GENERAL SUMMARY
Develop, plan, and implement process improvements in a
manufacturing environment that includes machining and assembly.
Implement lean manufacturing techniques including: cellular
manufacturing, set up reduction, pull manufacturing, and visual
management. Other duties include production support, cost
reduction, project management, and traditional industrial engineering
activities such as time studies, routings, and method improvements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITES(Typical)
- Implement and support lean manufacturing (visual
management metrics, creation of supermarkets, ideal cells, 6S
improvements, single-piece flow, TPM, etc.)
- Support production as needed.
- Be the scorekeeper for 6S, perform 6S audits
monthly and report results and improvement opportunities.
- Implement process improvements that eliminate
waste, improve productivity, and/or reduce costs.
- Work on and communicate projects in a manner that fosters buy-in from
both salary and hourly workers

SPECIFICATIONS
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- BS/MS degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering
- 2-5
years experience preferred
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing
techniques
- Microsoft Office proficiency, preferably including Access

Exposure to Time/Methods Study Techniques
- Innovative problem solver

- Strong interpersonal and
communication skills
EXPERIENCE ON JOB TO ATTAIN ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES BASED ON PAST EXPERIENCE, BUT NOT
REQUIRED
- 2-5 years experience preferred
- Knowledge and experience of 2D/3D
CAD software a plus
